It is always interesting to hear great tunes whenever a person turns on the television set within their home. People living in Tucson AZ know that they will indeed be hearing great science fiction music whenever a show like "Star Trek" "Lost In Space" or "Space 1999" comes over the airwaves. These shows are all classics and they really capture the viewers attention at every moment of broadcast.

Almost fifty years ago a male director and writer named Gene Roddenberry had a vision to create a show that was very unusual and colorful. His creation was titled "Star Trek" and it was shown on the NBC television network in 1966. One stage performer named William Shatner jumped at the chance to be a part of this classic series which would remain popular for many years. A musician named Alexander Courage wrote the tune for this production.

Alexander was a musical genus who really brought this show to life each and every week with his unique arrangements. Special tunes would play for the Captain aboard this friendly ship whenever he was fighting. Young people all over the world enjoy these sounds while having fun.

When "Star Trek" ended Gene Roddenberry decided to do other projects to fill up his time. He waited until the 80's before getting another musical arrangement for the series "The Next Generation." Another very special show which featured the crew of Alpha Control was called "Space 1999" and it contained some really groovy sounds.

This very British show featured talented actors who were all interesting on every level. The human beings living within the United States had never seen any of these thespians before but they were still impressed with their work. It was also great that former "Mission Impossible" stars Barbara and Martin Landau were able to work on this series.

Individuals in England have all heard about Barry Gray and his musical introduction for the "Space 1999" series. His theme was very exciting and it was different from any other tune that was around. The intro to this series showed clips of what was going to happen within the hour.

"Lost In Space" is still a fan favorite show even though it first started about fifty years ago. During the first season the opening scenes were animated and the theme was composed by John Williams. This particular theme played for two years until Williams decided to write a new tune. During season three he dropped the animated opening and gave the show a more exciting countdown which led to the intro.

Viewers were now able to see the faces of the actual actors who were starring within the show. This was a way that everyone could actually see Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Johnathan Harris, Mark Gooddard, Marta Kristen, Angela Cartwright and Billy Mummy. The tune was very upbeat and really made human beings jump for joy. Unfortunately this was the last season of the show since the ratings had slipped. Mr. John Williams also created the theme for the motion picture "Star Wars" during the 1970's and this was one of his greatest accomplishments.
